LoRa Industrial IoT Yield Tracker
Independent LoRa IoT system tracking latex yield across a 2,200+ unit plantation, with custom bucket-level firmware and canopy-penetrating radio links.
An independent IoT initiative for a 2,200+ unit forest plantation estate. Custom automated digital bucket modules with capacitive liquid-level sensing measure latex collection in the field, transmitting over a 433MHz LoRa link engineered to stay reliable through dense rubber-tree canopy — non-line-of-sight conditions that break most consumer radio links. RFID tags track which trees are being tapped.
I wrote the low-level C firmware for the edge devices and the LoRa transmission scheme, plus a React/FastAPI/PostgreSQL backend to ingest and visualize sensor logs in real time.
